Canon i950 and Photoshop Album Print Quality Questions

I have a Canon I950 printer. When printing with Adobe's Photoshop Album
software, I get a) some minor horizontal banding, and 2) solid colors tend
to gradiate toward a slighlty more reddish color towards the bottom 1/4 of
my prints. I am using Canon Photo Paper Pro paper and Canon inks. I am very
careful to make sure that I am using the correct paper settings and am using
the highest photo quality settings when printing. The picture looks great on
my monitor and prints do not have these problems when I use the EasyPhoto
print software that came with the i950. Any ideas?

I had a similar problem with my i850 when I first had it. Like you, using
Easy Photo was perfect, but trying to print from Photoshop was a disaster -
every photo looked as if the "Find edges" filter had been used.
After a lot of fannying around, I eventually decided to download the latest
drivers from the Canon site, and, as soon as I loaded them everything came
perfect! It came as a surprise to me to find that brand new equipment comes
with out of date drivers, until I started to keep a check in the websites of
most of my component manufacturers, and couldn't believe how often drivers
are updated!
Hope this works for you, good luck

As best I can tell, Canon has never released a driver update for the i950.
The one on their web is still the same 162a (I think that's right) that was
issued early this year.

Is there a Canon site that is more up to date, or is all there is ?

I would love to see much better 8X10 support.
