Canon i950 inks

S

Steve Dell

I've tried a variety of compatible of inks with my Canon i950. when I print
general paperwork, PowerPoint presentation and the like, anything seems to
work well.

However, I had to print a bunch of 4 by 6 photos out of PhotoShop Elements
2.0 on RedRiver Paper. I have the profile established and properly
installed. However, the colors are awful. I've had to go back to using Canon
inks.

Anyone know of highly reliable compatible inks specifically for printing on
photo paper and not just general purpose.

TIA

Steve

FWTW - I have used inkgirl.com ink for 2+ years in my canon s9000

After about 10-15-20 or more refills I notice a "slow of the ink flow" (read
skipping or lines) - I relate that to the 'sponges' in the tanks slowing the
volume to the heads.

At that time, I remove the printhead - clean with Windex and canned air,
purchase a new set of canon inks and print away... worked for me - YMMV...

BTW, I use Epson and office depot papers with success...

Hi jb,
At that time, I remove the printhead - clean
I also own Canon printers. I am not familiar with mechanical stuff. Is
printhead physically separated from ink cartridges? If so, where can I find
those printheads? Satoshi

I tried the inks for formulabs and that's really when my problems began.
they were nice enough to allow me to return them.

I am using MIS ink in my i950. Side by side with Canon ink there is no
difference in color. I am using Red River Ultra Gloss Pro Paper and it
is great.

With the s9000 (and others) the printhead and ink tanks are separate items.

Mine s9000 has 6 separate ink tanks that fit into the printhead and all can
be removed / cleaned / replaced as needed...

YMMV

hope this helps - John b

ps - look in the manual too...

I suspect thats the problem. I'm using the bulk ink. Were they Arrow
cartridges. I had two of them that were off color.
