I currently have Vista Ultimate without the SP1. I used the window
update and standalone SP1 update and each time it has failed, failed s
much that i had to boot the Vista DVD and reinstall over the curren
Vista. I noticed that when i reinstall over the current Vista all m
programs still work. So i was wondering if i get a Vista Ultimate DV
with SP1 slipstreamed with it, would i be able to reinstall vista wit
SP1 over my current non SP1 Vista?

IF i am not, i am just going to do a clean install of 64-bit Vist
then. THanks gUy

No, you cannot upgrade if the service pack levels do not match; you would
need to do a clean install or get a non-SP1 media to upgrade from.
