I uninstalled the word program on my pc because it seemed to be frozen after
a 30 trial version had elapsed. Even though I reinstalled it by disc, a
couple of times now, and tried a download version, it still does not appear
anywhere on my computer. HELP please...........

When the trial has finished, you can't simply re-install and start again. If
you want to use the program after the trial, you must buy it.

I mistakingly thought by uninstalling the trial version my old version would
still be intact. The trial version was somehow corrupted and was just frozen
anyway. I have tried to re-install my old version from a disc but its just
not happening. Do I need to buy a new disc or is there something on my pc
that is preventing the program from appearing on my computer.

Ah. That's a different issue. It appears you have corrupted some essential
files. If you cannot repair your old installation, you should uninstall both
versions - see http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/General/FilesToBackup.htm first -
then you should be able to reinstall your old version.

No error messages at all. I cant seem to locate the word program on my
computer even though I seemingly have installed it from the disc
successfully, or so I thought. The disc says Microsoft Works Suit 2001 Setup,
Microsoft Works 6.0 Microsoft Word 2000 SR-1

I have already tried that to no avail...............

Search your hard drive for winword.exe, which is the Word program file. Note
that you must click Advanced in Windows Search and specify that hidden and
system files be included in the search.
