I installed a trial version of Word 2007. Uninstalled it, and now I do not
have access to my original XP pro. anyway to get it back without the cd?

No. When you installed 2007 you must have told it to overwrite the old
version. This is not something you should do if you don't have the CDs.

Did Office come preinstalled on your computer when you bought it or did you
buy it later?

Hmmm. The trial usually attempts to load alongside the existing version. It
might be the links and registartion that are missing so it would be worth
looking for the file winword.exe in the (default) folder C:\Program
Files\Microsoft Office\Office10 (Word XP). If present, can you run that
file? If that works then see How to re-register Word when problems crop up
