i think my cdrom drive is busted my manufac tech won't help me

my cdrom drive seems to scratch cdroms or other cds
could it be broke it seems to not want to spin like it
used too
 
Take it out and ask a computer shop to test it. It's obviously broken.
Better still, invest in a new one as it will probably be cheaper than
testing or repairing the old one.

Plain old CD ROM drives are very cheap, but perhaps now would be a good time
to replace it with a DVD burner and some good backup S/W like Drive Image
from Powerquest.
