CD Rom Disappears

Hi
I have a funny but very distracting thing happening ,
when i try to install any big/huge software like VS.NET from my CDRom on XP,
suddenly my CDROM dissapears and get a message cannot read, when i go to my
computer my CDROM Drive Icon is missing.
When i restart it comes back, i find my cdrom back. It does not happen with
any other cds. i play music for hours but my cdrom just works fine,
what could be the issue

Your cd-rom drive could be failing. You might have a failing power
supply. Your hard drive might be failing. Open the case and be sure all
cables are seated tightly. Try with a different cd-rom drive.
