I seem to be missing a .dll file

B

Brad Kimmick

I am attempting to correct a problem on my mothers
computer. Every time she boots up after her password
login she receives a rundll error message
C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\bridge.dll cannot be
found.
Well if the computer can't find it I sure as heck don't
know where it is! Can anyone out there tell me how to
find and replace this dll file that has gone missing? I
would greatly appreciate any help in this area. Also
would this missing file be the cause of her anti-virus
update to show that it is trying to load but never gets
beyond 0% update? I don't know and am just trying to
figure out if the dll file is the cause of the non-
updating virus protection.
Thanks so much
Brad

BRIDGE.DLL is/was spyware.
It's a GOOD thing you are missing it.

The bridge file is a result of some Spyware. Best thing to do is post a
hijack log at one of the Forums.
Download HJT from one of these links:
Hijack This - http://209.133.47.200/~merijn/files/HijackThis.exe
OR
Hijack This - http://tomcoyote.com/hjt
OR
Hijack This - http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/downloads.html
*Important*- After download check for UPDATES. Put HJT in its own folder,
scan your system, *DON'T FIX ANYTHING*, save the log. It will open in
Notepad, just save it and note the name and where you saved it. Post your
log at one of the forums (copy and paste it) and ask for assistance.

I had the same problem, but I got rid of the missing error with Spybot
Search and Destroy. It's no longer popping up when I start up my
computer. Try that program.
