Every time I or a program tries to open the command(command.com) I get a
message that says:

X]
C:\WINDOWS\system32\command.com
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXE.NT. The system file is not suitable for running
MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to teminate the
application.
[Close] [Ignore]
How can i fix this problem please help me. This started to happen since i
installed sp2. I also cannot install windows xp professional. I get a message
that says that i have the lates program running but i only have windows xp

Also can be caused by a Trojan installing a file windupdater.exe and
creating registry entries for that file.

AVAST (free antivirus software) can be the cause if SP2 is installed:

You can put back the standard version of autoexec.nt by copying a backup
copy held in windows\repair to windows\system32.
