System32 error

when i try to install some games and programs onto my computer i get an error
message that says:

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXE.NT. The system file is not suitable for running
MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'close' to teminate the
application.

I tried searching the computer for thet file but it couldnt find it. Can
anyone help me?
