I need help--trying to turn on Internet Connection Firewall!

I am constantly getting the pop ups using Windows
Messenger. I found the Microsoft website and the
instructions for turning on the ICF, but I can't get it
done. I am using dial-up AOL. I go to the control panel,
click network and internet connections, click network
connections, right click AOL, click properties.....and I
do not get anything. I'm supposed to select the advanced
tab but I get no tabs. I have tried it while signed on
and not. I have no properties!!!

Can someone please help me?
 
Hi Melisa

To stop popup adds go to the Control Panel, Administrative Tools,Services,
scroll down to
messenger and double click it, and where it says startup type automatic
change to disabled.
