Windows XP Internet Connection Firewall and AOL

I have been trying to get my firewall to work. I have
Windows XP Home Edition and also AOL. The problem I have
is that when I go to Network Connections then to Dial up
I right click on AOL under Dial up, then click on
Properties and then nothing. I can't get to the next
screen to set up the Internet Connection Firewall? I
have also tried doing this: Go to Network Connections,
then to Dial up and highlight AOL and the go to Change
settings of this connection-I still get nothing. I can"t
get to the next screen? Does anyone have a solution?

My only suggestion would be to drop AOL. It doesn't play well with others.
Then get a 'real' ISP and perhaps some help with the problem.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that AOhell will not
allow you to turn the XP fiewall on. Try zone alarm.

MAP is correct. AOL as of yet is not fully compatible ICF. In other words,
AOL will not allow ICF to be turned on and retain it's functionality.

Greetings --

If you're using AOL, you'll either need to find a 3rd party
firewall that is compatible with AOL, or switch to a real ISP that is
compatible with the real Internet. This is because AOL is an on-line
content provider that ignores international Internetworking standards
in favor of its own proprietary products, and has deliberately made
its connection software incompatible with both WinXP's built-in
firewall and WinXP's Internet Connection Sharing feature. AOL's
proprietary connection applet is deliberately designed to preclude
your setting/adjusting any of its properties, to include
enabling/disabling WinXP's ICF and ICS.
