Well, I tried downloading Service Pack 2 for the 2nd time today, this time it
was the full package for IT Proffessionals and Developers and it failed again
during installation. Just like the one I tried to install from the Windows
auto Update this morning, it went through the install/configuration proccess
and
then gave me a message saying "Access Denied", then when I clicke "OK" I got
a Service Pack 2 Setup Error saying "Service Pack 2 Installation did not
Complete. Select OK to undo changes that have been made". Then it
uninstalled SP2 and finally gave me another error message saying "Service
Pack 2 installation did not complete. Windows SP has been partially updated
and may not work properly".
Prior to the install I ran Ad-Aware and Microsofts AntiSpyware program. I
ran also
HijackThis and there was nothing harmful on my computer.
I've read that one problem might be in the registry, but what I've read
about changing the registry seems complicated, dangerous, and over my head.
Can anyone help me?
