I need a macro to replace %) with Unicode 0254

I have a document in ASCII with thousand of surrogate strings for phonetic
and other symbols (e.g. %) for Unicode 0254). In the Word version of the
document I need to convert all of the surrogates to the proper symbols. The
conversion works by hand on a few examples, but when I record the actions in
a macro, the macro does not subsequently work on the large document. Please
help.

your best bet is to ask this in one of the .word.vba newsgroups. Make
sure to specify your version of Word, maybe include the macro code and
where it fails exactly.
