I lose my drive mapping to the server

I have a computer that will intermittenly lose its
connection to one of our servers. When it does I try to
click on the drive mapping and it tells me that the drive
is in use and can't be restore. I then try to use network
places and click on the server and it tells me that I may
not have permissions to that server. But then after some
time the connection gets restored. I've tried to use the
net command and tried to access the server from the run
command line with no sucess. I have also tried to unmap
and them remap but when I try to remap it doesn't work I
can't map the drive.

Are you using the server name as the mapping or IP address?

If server name then try again with IP address, if the server's IP is a fixed
one this would work better as there would be no name resolution to deal
with.
