I keep getting an "NT on-access Scanner Service" error message.

What' s it mean and what can i do about it? Is this what is causing my computer to stall out every time I try to connect to the internet? I need very plain english instructions....I'm computer illiterate! Thanks!

This _sounds_ like its part of your antivirus and/or firewall security
system, not part of Windows XP itself.

Your best bet might be to ask whoever made the antivirus software if they
know anything about this error.
