I have no desktop icons & nothing in task manager!

I have windows xp, I have lost all my desktop, tool bar, I can't access the
start button. I back doored to get here. I've run Norton and came up clean!
What programs should be running in the task manager? How can I get my desktop
back?

Enter xp,open task mgr,new task,type:cmd In cmd type:Sfc /Scannow Install
xp cd,exit the info page.Once thru,type:CHKDSK C: /F Agree to
restart,type:EXIT
Restart pc,remove xp cd
