I have admin rights but POP: SOT says i don't

I bought the game Prince of Persia: Sands of Time but
after installing it and trying to run it a Windows error
pops up saying I must have admin rights to run. Then
another error says the game process has been manually
killed. The thing is I'm the only user on the machine
with admin rights--in fact I'm the only user on the
machine period. All the drivers have been updated and
windows updates have been downloaded. The specs of my
machine are below.

Windows XP
40 GB hard drive
1 GB of ram
GeForce 5600 Graphics card
1.73 GHz processor
DirectX 9.0b

What could be the problem? I'd appreciate any advice :)

Hi,
I also have WinXP, and I've installed two games URU/Myst Ages Beyon Myst - and- Microsoft game "Halo".
Although I am (always) logged in as "administrator", have disabled AV software while I installed the games, I still get the same pop-up message with both games when I try to open them. The game then boots me back to the desktop.
I've tried going to Microsoft's Knowlege base? I've even run the DXDiag (DirectX diagnotstic tool) and there is nothing (apparently) wrong with my machine or drivers.

Wish someone could help.

Hi Adrian,

Please set a restore point before attempting the suggestions in this post.
How to use Windows XP System Restore:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/using/howto/gethelp/systemrestore.asp

Try this workaround. Create a new Administrator account and install the game
using it. Afterwards test the game to be sure it works. If successful test with
the old Administrator account. If that fails, switch everything to the new
Administrator account using the Windows XP File and Settings Transfer Wizard.
For reference see the FAST information at: http://aumha.org/win5/a/fast.htm
