i have a problem in the calculated disk space as the
windows shows that 128 mb is free space on that partition
although i calculated the used space by selecting all
programs on that disk (including hidden files) and
finding their total size and i have found that more than
1.5 gb is still free and i use norton antivirus2003 and
it didnt detect any virus so please any one faced a
problem like this contact me at
([email protected]) and thanks...

are you related to george eliot?

open defragment window to get used and free space.

If you have wasted space in clusters, files in the recycled
bin, temp files, and un-usable sectors all accounted for,
perhaps you have failed to count bytes as (2^x)^x

Do a scandisk .. should repair a bunch of errors and fix
your problem.

If not, go buy another harddrive

Actually, need to run Chkdsk /f. Scandisk is not part of Windows XP.
