I have a website address in my "history" folder that
cannot be cleared by any of the normal means. It seems to
be embedded somehow in the program.. I know its there by
opening "history", and then doing a search.. The address
shows up, I right click to delete it, get the message
box "are you sure you want to delete" etc.. I click ok..
but it doesn't go away.. Its not a real big deal, but it
has got me very curious. Any idea's why this won't go,
and how I can make it go? thanks.. GG

open windows explorer then in the address bar type this
in
%temp%
then select all and delete.
then dump history, and temp files in internet options, it
should get rid of it for you

By windows explorer, do you mean "explore" once I right
click on the "start" button?? I tried this and it did
not work.. this thing is really STUCK in my history. !!
grrrr...

This is really bugging you.
Boot to Safe Mode and log on as Administrator or any other account with
administrative rights other than the account which has the offending history
item.
Go to windows explorer and navigate to:
C:\Documents and Settings\username_where_item_to_delete_is\Local
Settings\History\History.IE5
Delete the contents of History.IE5
Reboot.
