I.E. Version

I have a 2003 enterprise server running Windows 2003 I.E.
6.0. When we connect to a web site it gives us an error
that "internet explorer 6.0 for Windows with at least
service pack 1 required" for connection. This version of
I.E. doesn't have (or already has) SP1. When I try to
install SP1 it comes back with "I.E. version installed
newer than this version". Can anyone make any sense out of
this? Is there any settings I can switch to make this work?

Thanks,
