I.E. Vanishes 3 minutes after opening

I cannot use I.E. , it disappears suddenly , I cant
reinstall it because it tells me I have the current
version already installed. Uninstalled it from windows
components , downloaded 6.0 tried to install it , would
not let me. Open to suggestions please.
