I.E problems

I have windows xp sp2, broadband, NIS 2004. I like to use Internet Explorer
and have always done so, but just recently it has started to cut me off from
my modem connection, after being on line for about a minute. Everything
else, including the line has been checked and is working ok, so we think this
is the root of the problem as I don't get it when I use MSN explorer. Should
I uninstall and reinstall? any ideas? as I prefer to use I.E rather than MSN.
Thanks.

I am wondering if you can just re-install IE from your XP recovery disk
without a complete re-install. I'd try that.

Hopefully, and you sound intelligent enough & that you did, but hopefully you
run anti-spyware software every few days (Adaware at least), anti-virus
software that keeps tabs on stuff in real time as you move about, a firewall
program or be behind a router (if not 3rd party software, XP has a built-in
firewall, and SP2s is supposed to be much better than SP1s was),. So by
"everything else was checked", this means no virus, like one that affects IE.

Also, you prob did this too, delete all cookies, temp files, & history from
IE. Also, I hope you have a program that checks and fixes your registry
(don't know it that would affect this, but you need something that does this
anyway).

Just for your information.

As ...D indicated, there are programs that fix registry
issues.

I use Symantec (Norton) SystemWorks 2003 (2004 version is
available). It contains Norton AntiVirus and many of the
Norton utilities, including a registry repair and Clean
Sweep. The registry repair has resolved problems for me in
the past, especially when I was just getting started.
