I have been having problems with mouse( going to a scrolling 4 arrows)
instead of just a hand or reg arrow...and also I am freezing up in between
screens. Only thing that will stop this from occuring is alt/ctrl/del. then I
will be fine for about 15 min...and then POOF starts happening all over
again. I have win XP and have run the scandisk, defrag, and all the spyware
programs that I have. I keep coming up empty. I'm really at my witts
end....shy of reformatting does anyone have any solutions for this

Try a different mouse. Or clean this one and then try again with it. If
this is a tilt wheel mouse (4 way directional scrolling), the wheel may be
stuck.

How old is the mouse? Try a different mouse. Perhaps you have an old
one lying around from an older pc. If not that, how long has it been
happening? You might be able to restore the system to a point before
the weird mouse issues.

Make sure you have all the data and software programs saved that you
want to hold onto and even if you reformat it should be ok. But save
the reformat for a last resort
