I don't understand

I just purchased a new laptop from Gateway and the only operating system it
came with is Vista. I am having extreme problems sending messages via my
hotmail account. The message basically says no more support with hotmail.
I can sometimes send on my hotmail but other times I get blocked. I need
help. I'm attempting to send my resume off for a job and I am unable to do
so.

How do I configure my email to accept me writing on my exixting hotmail
account?

The Windows Mail program is unable to connect to most of the Hotmail
accounts. You may want to download and install the Windows Live
Mail program, which can connect to Hotmail:

If you only want to use the web-based version of Hotmail, use this fix,
which will make Hotmail your default email service in Vista:
