I can't type in boxes!

Hi, I am having trouble with a fairly new, XP laptop. I can't type in boxes,
such a search boxes, username/password boxes, you know the kind of thing. I'm
currently on a friends laptop, as this is exactly the type of thing I can't
do on my laptop anymore!
I don't know much about computers etc and would apreciate any help!

The only thing I can think of is updating that computer. Don't worry, this
won't involve typing. In Internet Explorer, go to Tools>Windows Update.
Update your computer, and when it finishes, go back again to see if anymore
updates are there.

Updating would not correct or improve the situation, in fact it may make it
worse. In that the laptop is fairly new, recommend a System Restore to
before the problem started. You can go back up to 90 days, if it is that old.
Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore

Here are a few things to try:

- In Internet Options, Security tab, click the "Default Level" button.

- In Internet Options, Advanced tab, click "Restore Defaults".

- For Jscript Errors:

You might try these first though.

Repair 5.6 Scripting Engine install:

Click, Start, Run, type

Regsvr32 vbscript.dll

Click OK

Click Start, Run, type

Regsvr32 jscript.dll

Click OK
