yeah, these new computers and this ****ed up windows xp operating
system just ignore you when you delete software, what a ****ing joke.
Every program you install now invades your computer, starts up when you
start up windows without asking you, is constantly wanting to download
some update shit, everyday, every software company is a bunch of pushy
dicks and jerks now because nobody is regulating this shit. We have no
government.

When you get your mess all sorted out, I highly recommend
that you do not plan on using any Norton products after the
Norton System Works 2003, and that you ONLY use THAT for the
system maintenance utilities, and NOT for AV.

I have been using Norton System Works 2003 since it came
out, and I LOVE it, and recommend it highly. I've heard
nothing but problems from 2004, 2005, and now 2006.

"Stick with what works."

One of my Internet buddies just upgraded from 2003 to 2004
and then 2005. When she finally gave up on 2005, she swore
she'd never use Norton products again. I think I talked her
into going back to 2003, which they still support.

For AV, I have gone with AVAST4 (free), which works just
fine. You could also try AVG, if you want 2 AVs that don't
conflict with one another.

Also be sure you have AdAware Pro, which is free, and
SpyBot, which is also free, and both of those update for
free as well.

I also sprung earlier this year to buy SpySweeper, and got
the 2-year subscription

Between AVAST4, AdAware, SpyBot, and SpySweeper, I am very
protected, and 3 of those 4 are FREE.

Go to

www.download.com

and you will find all of the above.

Where you'll find a free copy of Norton SW 2003, I couldn't
tell you. A friend gave me a copy, but it's worth having.

One other-- two others you should look at are
Crap Cleaner (registry/system maintenance)
and

Reg Cleaner

both are also free.

Good luck!

I use Norton antivirus 2006, have used norton av for years and have no
problem with it. I have systemworks 2006 but only use av and ghost I dont
even install the other parts. Because of the nature of the program,
Systemworks integrates at the heart of windows and sometimes install
problems crop up. I seen install problems with lots of programs over the
years but at least norton make tools to remove the parts if the there are
problems.

I recommend avast or AVG to customers of mine and had at one who had a virus
trash their hard drive after using avast. Obviously one isn't significant
but it shows that problems crop up with any program. I personally would
never run any registry fixing program such as found in systemworks but you
highly recommend systemworks as well as other registry cleaners. Over time
you will see that they cause problems not fix them.

norton is gloppy coded ****ed up shit, thanks to windows xp, shitty new
computers and shitty software, everything runs like shit now.

Uninstall Norton anti-virus, there is no virus that's gonna **** your
computer up more than Norton Anti-virus.

You can goto http:/service.symantec.com/autotool and download SymNRT.EXE,
which will remove the Symantec Norton product. Hope this help.
