I cannot open report without a printer. I cannot print with a prin

My setup:
1. I have no local printer.
2. I have a network printer.

Start with no printer installed on Windows Printers. I can open the report
for preview and for design. I try to print and get an error message that I
need to install a printer in Windows Printers. (So far, this is logical.)

Then I install the network printer and try again. I try to open a report and
get an error message that I need to install a printer. At this point I cannot
open the report for design, previewing, or printing. I cannot open the report.

How can I print a report on the network printer?

Have you defined the network printer as your default printer?
