I cannot create new appointments ,contacts tasks etc. or Hotsync .

I have recently been unable to create new appts contacts etc in outlook 2002.
I also cannot Hot sync or export. The error message I always get is The
operation failed . One or more parameters is invalid.
 
The exact error message is "Could not complete the operation. One ro more
parameter values are not valid". The mmessage comes whe i try to crewate any
new task , appt, or contact. It also comes up if I try to select
import/export from the file menu. I can still send and receive e-mail.
Any help would be appreciated.
