I can send e-mails but receive them

I can send e-mails using create mail but if I press the Send/Receive button
the following comes up
The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'karen', Server:
'74.53.174.50', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error:
10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E
Can anyone help?

It isn't clear to me whether your problem is with sending or receiving.
The error message you included pertains to receiving, so I'll address
that aspect.
I am curious why you are using 74.53.174.50 for the incoming mail server.
It is not necessarily wrong, but it is unusual.
Which antivirus are you using? Make sure its email scanning function
is turned off, as recommended here:
