I can receive mail but cannot send

I have just connected to the internet using a wi-fi connection. I'm using
Windows Mail as my mail handler. I receive all incoming messages but when I
try sending a message I get an error message that says "your server has
unexpectedly terminated the connection". I can go to my bellsouth webmail
site and send messages, but when I return to Windows Mail I get the same
error message when I try to send another message.

Do you mean the error message or the sent message?

OC error msg.
BTW, check: Tools, Accounts, youraccountname, Properties, Connections.
Uncheck, or choose this, which you really want to use.

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Subject 'test', Account: 'EmailMain', Server:
'mail.bellsouth.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket
Error: 10053, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

The error message. It contains details that will allow us to see what's
failing.

Which antivirus are you using?
Windows Mail is not compatible with most McAfee
or Norton security programs. Those will need to be
uninstalled, not just disabled.

After uninstalling your non-compatible antivirus, download
and install a more compatible antivirus like the free Avast:
http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

Even compatible antivirus programs will need to have their
email scanning option turned off. For more on this topic see
