I can not open any access db even with the correct password

Hello all,
I created a password for one of my access files.

Then I tried opening the file and it asked for the password, I put in the
correct password and it is not working. Also, I tried opening my other
access files and it is asking me for a password, but I have not added any
password to these other files.

Can you help out.

If I ask our IT people to reinstall access would that work?

A data base password only applies to one database. If you are being asked
on every file, then it sounds more like you set a password associated with
your userid. Is it asking for a Userid and password, or just a password?
They are different.

If it is a userid and password, then this is stored in the workgroup file
(mdw). One way to get around it (since it does not sound like you actually
followed the proper steps to secure your database) is to simply join a
different workgroup. Did you create this password in the default system.mdw
workgroup, or did you create a new workgroup file and play with security in
it?

If you did this in your default workgroup, then you will need to replace it
with a clean workgroup from another computer in the office. If you do not
have another computer available, you could delete the system.mdw file and
Access will create a brand new one. You may need the installation disks for
this step, but I don't think you will.

Of course, you should have learned from all of this to make a backup copy of
all your files before you go any further. Make sure to create a backup of
the secure.mdw file before you delete yours.
