Make sure that there is an account on the W2K computer that matches the user
logon/password that you logon to the XP computer as possibly you are using a mapped
drive that had different saved credentials. You can view which account you are
authenticated by with the mapped drive by looking in Computer Management/shared
folders/sessions. You could also enable auditing of logon events on the W2K computer
and viewing the security log in Event Viewer to see if it reports failed logon and
the reason why.

You possibly could have a problem with the browse list also. At least one computer
needs to be the master browser out of the two. The browse list is quirky and
sometimes takes a while to get its act together, especially if one computer was just
started. Run nbtstat -n on both computers and at least one needs to show that it is
the master browser [1d 01] and both computers need to have at least a entry for
computer name and workgroup when running nbtstat -n. --- Steve

Forgot to add to make sure the XP built in ICF firewall on the XP computer is
disabled. Even though it may allow a mapped drive to work, it may interfere with the
operating of the browse list. --- Steve
