i can only tell you it is better than its prior version and so far the
active x compatablilty issue is fixed. but it still needs some work, I guess
that is why they call it a beta.
Thanks for this report Robin. Good to know the activeX issue is sorted (and
about time too!).
When you say it still needs some work, what sort of things are you not happy
with?

webshield is still too slow
they fixed the link scanner issue in the AVG 8.0 now but in the beta one it
is taking too long to spin when you do a google search
and if you click the link too fast the browser crashes.
btw i am also testing firefox 3.0 on that same computer
I am still finding when scanning it is using up too much cpu
and firewall is not remembering some applications (that is a problem with
the avg 8.0 now
Most of the problems i am seeing are minor and I am assuming they will fix
them before they release this version since the received so many complaints
on the prior one.
I will keep you informed
