Hyperterminal connection preferences

Windows XP will not allow me to change and save my
connection preferences in Hyperterminal. After I make and
save my changes, it reverts back as soon as I dial out. I
need the data bits=7, Parity=even, Stop bits=1.

Perhaps the free upgrade to Hyperterminal's Private Edition will solve the
problem?
