Hyperlinks open in new window

Hi

When I open a hyperlink, it opens in the same window. This happens with
hyperlinks in Word and Excel also.

I have gone into Internet options/Advanced and checked that the re-use
windows option is not selected ( in fact I have checked it, then unchecked it
to make sure).

Can anyone suggest a solution please? I am using IE6 and Office 97.
