Hyperlink to PDF file is failing

I am using outlook 2003. I'm creating an email using Word (from
Outlook). When I insert a hyperlink to a PDF file, it won't open the
file when the link is 'followed'. Adobe opens for a split second then
closes. If I insert a hyperlink to any other type of file (I've tested
..txt files as well as all other types of Office files) the links work
fine. I can open the PDF files from windows explorer and they opens
fine. Does anybody know why this happening?

This is very frustrating, please help!

By reading another message in this group I got the idea to remove the

file:///

from the beginning of the file reference, and this works. Now how can
remove this before I send the email. I had to email it to myself, then
view the html source of the email to remove the prefix.

I have to teach others who are not computer experts how to do this.

Adobe just released version 7.0.5 which fixes this. Thanks for all
your help!
