I want to set up a hyperlink to a Word .dot file and have
it start up Word when clicked. I've read and followed the
directions and the file is opening in Internet Explorer.
I'm using Windows 2000, Front Page 2000. I would
appreciate a personal e-mail answer to (e-mail address removed)
as well as board post. Thanks.

I posted the question below earlier this month. Does
anyone have any ideas?
Thanks.
Ann

This is not something that you have any control over. For security reason you can't start
applications on a user's machine from a web page.

Thanks so much for your response. The reason I thought I
could is because when I have a link to an Adobe PDF file,
Adobe opens when the user clicks on it. Is there any way
I can give the user the option to download this document
template from our site?

Place a note next to the link, with instructions to right click and save to disk...
