Hyperlink to an Outlook email message

While a hyperlink to an email message in an Outlook folder (or sub-folder)
works well (eg. from Word/Excel), there are the following which do not:

1) if the Subject text contains a forward slash (ie. "/")

2) if there are multiple email messages with the same Subject text, it will
only display the latest email. It hwoever, be also desirable if the
hyplerlink can be established to the specific email in the email/discussion
thread for tracking purposes.

Would be interested in any feedback as I have attempted a number of
variations with both above, but have not been successful.
