huge problem. please help

i'm currently working on a computer for a customer. she
was running the weatherbug software and decided to exit
it. this caused an endless strem of popups. when she
couldnt stop them, she reached over and killed power by
turning off the power switch on her UPS. the next time
she tried booting, it seem ed fine, ran post test,
checked hard drive, cd drive, etc. then stops and
says "disk boot failure, insert system disk and press
enter." she rebooted again and windows (XP HE) started
this time but locked up half way through startup.
everytime since it gives the same error message. i made
sure all connections to the hard drive are ok. now im
stuck. could the hard drive be bad? i cant get into safe
mode or to the bios. any suggestions would be very
helpful. i believe that the weatherbug startup file is
causing a hangup. if i could get to safe mode i could
disable the startup file and later delete the rest of the
software., or am i nowhere close.

Sound like you will need to do a XP re-install. She may have killed the
power during an important (???) part a XP which may have "hosed" the Windows
XP system.

Can you please break your giant sentence into meaningful paragraphs with proper spelling, etc? Too hard to follow

Hello
Looks like you got a couple of kids messing around on
their dads puter while he is out with their sister.

Oh well back to business
try to put a blank floppy in and then boot up and see if
you can enter safe mode then. if not you may need to do a
complete system restore. she must not have any important
files to just pull the plug. then run a good spy sweeper
and get rid of all the adware junk.

Hope this helps
Jim
