hub automatically starting client on network

Hud boots up client when ever i start or shutdown the hub on the network,
both run XP home and its really p***** me off, losing lots of hair trying to
find a solution to prevent the hub automatically starting the client PC,,,
please help before i go bald!!!!!!!!

Some network cards have a "Wake on LAN" capability that automatically
boots the computer when they receive a special packet. Disable "Wake
on LAN" in the computer's BIOS setup and/or the network card's
properties.

fanks for ur help checked my packard bell bios settings doesnt have wake on
lan in bios neither does my realtek network card

i guess its the client PC i should turn these settings off although the
compaq pc doesnt have wake on lan either in bios settings

both PC's have the same network card and to add a little more info this is
the second time i setup the network last time there was a setting in services
that i disabled to prevent the hub starting the client but i cant find it now
which is partly why i'm pulling my grey hairs out got any more helpful
suggestions ? am only 37 years young and dont want to go bald before my time
;)
