What exactly happens when you try to open an HTML document?
Open any Windows Explorer window and go to Tools > Folder Options... > View
(tab) > Uncheck "Hide extensions for known file types". Can you please
verify that you are in fact working with a file that has the HTML extension
and not (say) a text file?
