hs-err-pid

I have a Gateway AMD Athlon with 1gb RAM and 2.4 Ghz. Periodically (not all
the time) I've gotten an hs_err_pid dropped on my desktop in a notepad which
shows up upon closing my browser related to 3D virtual world activity but I
am not sure what causes it though the info on the notepad relates the
following information:

#
# An unexpected error has been detected by HotSpot Virtual Machine:
#
# EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) at pc=0x7c9010f3, pid=980, tid=3980
#
# Java VM: Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (1.5.0_10-b03 mixed mode, sharing)
# Problematic frame:
# C [ntdll.dll+0x10f3]
#

The text continues with a 'java thread' list which includes info about
'registers' 'top of stack' 'instructions' 'stack' 'java frames'

Then come 'Process' information 'other threads' 'VM States' 'VM
Mutex/Monitor ower' 'heap' 'Dynamics Library' 'VM arguments' 'Environmental
variables' and then there is System information.

Can anyone tell me what this error means, what activity it might be
connected with and is there any harm to the computer as well as how to
possibly stop the error from happening?

Thank you, nass, for the link to info on the hs_err_pid... problem. I will
definitely try that fix. It has happened on two of our computers here, both
of which frequent the same sites where 'flash' is being used. The screen
saver thing doesn't seem to fit in as one of the systems doesn't use a screen
saver, since the monitors actually go into sleep mode after 5 minutes of
inactivity. I would guess it is the flash that is causing the problem since
not only are both systems at the specific sites but the error notepad shows
up directly after closing out the browser from visiting. The sites are 3D
world places using Blaxxun Contact.

Yeah, but try to see the power Option for the Display why it is set for 5 Ms,
I will make it longer than this, by going into the Power Options/management
and try to set it to higher number or disable it at all.
Right click MY Computer and Click/select Properties.
On the system properties click Hardware Tab then click device manager and
click your monitor or Display Adapter and Right click it and Go through the
Power management option and set to not go to Idle mode or you can set it to
20 minutes.
HTH.
