I have a Windows XP home Edition computer and Once I get on the internet to
play some computer games, the game shuts down and a message appears. The
message is.........

# An unexpected error has been detected by HotSpot Virtual Machine:
#
# EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) at pc=0x6d671e64, pid=1060,
tid=2404
#
# Java VM: Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (1.5.0_06-b05 mixed mode, sharing)
# Problematic frame:
# V [jvm.dll+0x1e64]
............................................................................
Can anyone help to get the game to stop crashing? THANKS SO MUCH.

Neither the game, nor HotSpot Virtual Machine, have anything to do with
Windows XP or, for that matter, Microsoft.
Visit the game site for technical support with their game.

HotSpot is made by Sun and is a Java virtual machine. Make sure you have
the latest version of Java. Uninstall older versions. Other than that,
check on the game website for tech support of their programs.

Ok, the key words in the message above are

There are games that require a certain version of DirectX9.

There are (online games, I believe) that require a very
certain 'instruction code" that is contained in IE6 Browser
Windows containing the specific code set known as "Java."

It appears that you do not have the very specific code set
of Java the browser is asking for.

Look up "Java" in your favorite engine, and visit sites til
you find a downloadable copy of the VERY LATEST JAVA. (I
haven't loaded it RECENTLY, so I can't tell you the current
rev #.

However, keep looking for more current/most current Java
Runtime or full Java downloads, and install them (in the
same directory) until your game works.

Some (including MINE) versions of Java require a PRE-install
copy of .NET by Microsoft.

Last I looked, there are CURRENT -- FREE versions of
downloadable Java AND .NET.

Good luck!

Thanks for all the info so far but I already have the most recent version of
Java.

Does anyone think that It could be my firewall? Thanks again.

No, I doubt it is your firewall. You might have some security software
that isn't permitting the Java applet to run, though. Only you know
what is installed on your computer so you'll need to see what you have
running.

Other than that, check with the game site's tech support.
