HP PSC 2101 alignment problem

I recently upgraded from windows xp home to windows vista ultimate on my Dell
Inspiron 6000 laptop. I have a HP PSC 1210 printer.

But after upgrading to vista the HP toolbox from printer properties has
vanished & also I cant align the cartridge anymore. I checked HP site and
they have mentioned that they dont provide driver for it anymore & default
driver is in vista.

I took help from HP online chat & did the manual steps to align it, but
still the printouts come misaligned only.

I have purchased new cartridges, but still the same problem continues.

I would be thankful if someone can guide me as how to sort it, as lots of my
printouts are pending since many days now.

You might try installing the XP version of the software using:

Compatibility mode

-- right mouse click on the installation file rw2_021_w02_enu.exe and
select Properties / Compatibility mode / Set to XP with PS2 and check
Run as Administrator and then OK your way out.

Run as Administrator (I don't know if this is needed if you check that
box or not but I don't think it does any harm <g>)

-- right mouse click on the installation file and select Run as
Administrator.

and hope for the best.

I installed the HP Image Zone on VISTA in this way.
