I have Media Center 2005. I allowed XP to load the basic printer driver for
my printer instead of installing the manufacturer's full feature driver. My
printer is an old HP 842C DeskJet printer. Although I am missing some of
the features, general printing and even photo printing seem to be working
very well.
For anyone running older HP printers--should I go ahead an try to remove the
basic driver and install the full feature driver? The full feature driver
is dated 2001 so I am not sure if the Media Center 2005 basic driver is
newer or not, or if all the features will still work. Any info from someone
versed in HP printers would be greatly appreciated. If I install the full
feature driver, it needs to be installed thru the HP installation utility
and removed the same way.
