HP Printer Run On

I don't know if other printers do this but HP printers do. I have a
Deskjet 842c and after the paper jams and its cleared the printer thjen
prints garbage. Can'tanything be done to stop this. I mean there had to
be softwar that can detect the garbage and there has to be a way to
sinmply rest the printer and complete the job.

Hi Ho --- sorry, couldn't resist!

I have occasionally experienced similar behavior with my DJ 3820, when I
attempt to stop printing a document in the middle of its run. The cancel
button on my printer is of no use. I get so mad when it starts spewing
paper! It usualy prints a line or two of garbage, form feeds, and repeats
the cycle. Resetting the printer won't help -- there's still document "data"
(the garbage characters) in the print queue.

In order to stop the garbage spewing, I turn off the printer (usually by
unplugging the power cord) then open the print queue dialog by double
clicking the printer icon, or clicking the printer icon in the tray. This
allows me to cancel the printing. Sometimes there are several copies of the
same document in the queue! This also happened with my the Epson I had prior
to the HP, so I suspect it's related to how the print spooler
(mal)functions.

Yep... it ain't the printer, it's Windoze. It's usually always a disaster
if you try to cancel printing. And then sometimes the "cancel printing"
thing just hangs. For me it usually winds up with a reboot.

Measkite has been printing garbage for a long time. Although we detect the
garbage, he keeps going. Kind of like your HP printer.

I mean
THE PRINTER HAS ENDURED ECONOMIC OBSOLESENCE MULTIPLE TIMES
Meankite also has endured economic obsolesence. His religion on OEM inks
means he is spending huge sums to feed his habit. You kind of wonder how
bad it is when he can't even unclog his ass.

If you only print 52 photos per year (one per week average) then you
obviously have no need to save money on ink, but if that figure is accurate
it raises the question of why you are obsessing about those of us who do
save money by refilling. We print large quantities, have no problems with
ink matching, no clogging or other printer problems associated with third
party inks. It also raises the question of why you continually post about
how you buy Canon ink at Costco for $9.00 per cartridge. At 52 photos per
year it will take about three years before your first tank gets a low ink
warning and several more years before you've needed to replace a complete
set of ink. Many of those you refer to as Churchies will go through more ink
in a week than you will in a lifetime (if you actually had a life). Once
again Measekite has contradicted himself and has shown that his ranting is
nothing more than the useless drivel of an emotionally and socially deprived
troll.

DRC,

Thanks for the sharp eye. His printer may be clear but he is clogged in
other ways.
