HP Printer gone wild!

Hi! Two questions and a million hugs if someone can help me...

HP laserjet 3100 fax went crazy on me.. the display (LCD) has ever
letter box coloered in and weird symbols... it happened after
disconnected my printer while my laptop was still on.. any advice
(It still prints from the computer, but the actual keys on th
fax/printer do not work)

Also, I have a Compaq windows 98 desktop, and it takes soooo long t
start programs, scan the web, ect. I am a virus pro so no issue
there, and space is half full (or half empty ) Any ideas??? THANK

Take this to comp.periphs.printers where the HP printer experts live.
It might be as simple as doing a printer reset, however that is
accomplished.
