Optical drives don't have 'drivers' per-say, they are part of the OS ... look in Device Mangler for any yellow errors, failing that, delete any & all instances of the CD drive & reboot ... should re-find the drive.
Well then tryto install some other version of it and if the error comes again then replace it ....
