My Hp Pavilion f1703 Monitor turns off within 3 seconds of turning it on. The
Power button on the screen is lit blue meaning its not in stand by mode but
its technically turned on. I can see the back ground of what ever is on the
screen if its real bright but its extremely dim. The only way to view the
screen is to turn it off and on but only allows for 2-3 secods of viewing
time. So please! Some one help me!, Thanks.

All help will be greatly appreciated!!

Borrow a monitor from a friend and try that. If the borrowed monitor wonks,
get a new monitor. lf it doesn't work, it's most likely to be the graphics
card.

If you do a basic search on the internet you will find that there are many
threads out there with users having this same issue. I am one of those
people. This is a faulty monitor. HP does not offer much help - if you can
even find anyone to speak with. Updating the graphics card, BIOS, or
anything else won't work (I have tried all of those). I purchased an
extended warranty from the retailer, but it will only replace the monitor
with the exact same product. Given the fact that I paid $3,000 for my system
- I expect quality. HP has really let me down this time. I am not sure what
else I can do short of hiring a lawyer to get this resolved.
